Meet the Band

Mariea Young Hartnagle

Hometown: Coxsackie, Currently resides in Clifton Park

Lead vocalist for Hung Jury since September 2012

I have such varied musical taste.  The vocalists who have influenced me the most  always shoot from the hip, sing from the heart, and perform like it's the very first time.  Every note touches the soul and you feel the joy, feel the pain, and experience those emotions all over again every time I hear them. Anne Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge, Pat Benatar, Whitney Houston... the list is truly infinite.

After many fun nights of karaoke, the time came when I was pushed by two of the most talented local vocalists I know, Kimberly Wylder and Rae Sheline, to join a band. It took a while, and I finally listened to their wonderful, more experienced advice.  Since then, I have been entertaining in local bars for about 10 years fronting local bands Short Circuit, Lock and Load, Let Er Rip and now Hung Jury. I have had the pleasure to share the stage with some of the most amazingly talented musicians this area has to offer.  It has humbled me to say the least, and helped me strive to give my all in every performance so our fans know just how appreciate they are.  I'm always in such awe to see so many friendly, familiar faces in every place we play singing along, dancing, and reminding me every single show why I absolutely love being a vocalist.

Enjoy Music from the 70's to current and anything that ROCKS!!!

I was Influenced at a young age and was always fascinated with the sound of drums.....listening to Rush, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and all those great bands that Rocked.....it was time to pick up a pair of sticks, quit "air-drumming" and talk my parents into getting me  a real set of drums.  Throughout my years of playing. I've been fortunate to have met some fantastic people, great musicians and it just keeps getting better.

\^^/ ROCK ON \^^/

In 9th grade begged my mother to let me trade in my trumpet for a bass guitar. After weeks of nagging she relented, saying
"This will last as long as the trumpet did." See ma, told you I would stick with this!

Love 80's hairbands

Been playing for 35 years on and off

Got started after I bought my first guitar at a local pawn shop, then traded it in at the Hilton music store in downtown Troy for a strat copy which I still have to this day.

I was 12 years old, walking home from school and I heard the coolest, ballsiest sound I had ever heard coming from the top of a long driveway.....
"Bah, bah, bah....bah, bah, bahbah...bah, bah, bah...bahbah!!!!" I was like a moth to a flame.....
"Bah, bah, bah....bah, bah, bahbah...bah, bah, bah...bahbah!!!!" I followed the driveway up and the coolest 16 year old dude I had ever seen had this classic old Guild electric running through some crazy looking amp with a speaker the size of a small car.....
"Bah, bah, bah....bah, bah, bahbah...bah, bah, bah...bahbah!!!!" I kind of just stood there, and when he finally noticed me, he stopped and asked what was up. The only thing I could get out was, "Wha....what was that song?"
"Bah, bah, bah....bah, bah, bahbah...bah, bah, bah...bahbah!!!!" "That one? It's called 'Smoke on the Water'. Wanna learn it?".... and the rest is kinda fuzzy
